Building a Smart Contract-Based Product Authenticity Platform for Coffee Farmers Using ThirdWeb and Replit

< 1 min read

Abstract

The issues of authenticity and transparency in the agricultural product supply chain, particularly for coffee, pose significant challenges that affect consumer trust and farmer income. This paper proposes a framework for a decentralized product authenticity platform designed to track the journey of coffee from farm to cup. The platform leverages a combination of smart contract technology, simplified by ThirdWeb, and the collaborative development environment of Replit. Smart contracts will be used to record and verify each stage in the coffee supply chain, such as planting, harvesting, processing, and distribution. With this implementation, consumers can verify a product’s authenticity and origin, while coffee farmers can secure fairer prices and better reputations. This paper will outline the system architecture, the development process using Replit, the implementation of smart contracts with ThirdWeb, and the potential economic and social impacts of this platform.
